Six Dogs Blue Gin

Six Dogs Blue Gin derives its name from the blue pea flower (Clitoria ternatea), an antioxidant and aphrodisiac in traditional medicine.

The infusion of blue pea gives the gin its striking blue colour. The alchemy of this unusual botanical is further revealed when the Gin is mixed with a good tonic, changing the colour to light pink.

Tasting notes

Herbaceous coriander, plenty of floral complexity and tart tangerine dominate, with touches of bright juniper and a hint of citrus.

The floral botanicals are handled well and the juniper is allowed to get a look in.

The flavour follows the aroma with sweet floral notes of rose pelargonium and violet, like a bouquet of subtle flowers.

The blue butterfly pea adds very little, if anything, to the flavour. Perhaps a slightly earthy note.

The finish is juniper and floral (I guess I used the “floral” word enough, eh?)

Serve

You can pair this gin with a good tonic, not only because it’s delicious but it will change the color to light pink as well.

Add one shot of Six Dogs Blue Gin in a glass with ice.  Pour in Barker and Quin Indian Tonic Water.  Garnish with fresh blueberries.
